VFM Leonardo’s VNetwork Experiences Significant Growth in Travel Consumer Reach and Engagement

The Travel Industry’s Largest Online Media Syndication Network Saw an Increase of 134% in Views of Media Displayed in VPowered Multi-Media Player since February of this Year.

Toronto, ON – August 18th, 2011 – VFM Leonardo, leading online media company for the global travel industry, today announced significant growth of their media syndication network - VNetwork. Just fewer than 3.0 million unique travel shoppers clicked through on the VPowered Multi-Media Player syndicated for VBrochure customers during the month of June. There has been an overall growth in consumer reach of approximately 50% from February to June with the most significant growth seen on destination and social media sites.

The company also ran a tracking study on consumer engagement during the month of June on hotels that subscribe to the VBrochure Online Merchandising System. Engagement was tracked across the study hotels’ vanity (hotel property) websites, brand websites, 3rd party channels and social media sites within VNetwork. Not accounting for seasonality, unique visitors to the VPowered Multi-Media Player grew 59%, click throughs of the player grew 211%, and media item views grew 134% since February.

The study shows that of all VNetwork channels, consumer reach was highest on social media channels, specifically Facebook, representing over 30% of all VPowered Multi-Media Player click throughs. For hotels that have the VBrochure Facebook App, 33% of the click throughs of their VPowered Multi-Media Player came from Facebook and 20% of visitors also clicked through on the “Book Now” button to launch the hotel’s booking engine. These findings indicate that social media channels, particularly Facebook are effective channels for hotels and hotel brands to inform, engage, persuade and direct consumers to their booking engines.

“As a media company, this growth is significant. It tells hotels and brands that we are the company that will get their media in front of people where they’re looking for it. We are committed to continuing to stay ahead of the curve delivering experiences that travel shoppers want, on the websites and devices they use during the online hotel shopping journey,” said Paolo Boni, President and CEO, VFM Leonardo, Inc.
